PCPA acknowledges the Australian Indigenous peoples as the traditional and ongoing custodians of the lands on which we live and work.
Pacific Centre for Photographic Arts (PCPA) facilitates photography workshops, courses and exhibitions for people and communities in regional, rural and remote areas of Australia and the Pacific.
We advocate for personal and community development through increased access to photography, art and education.
PCPA delivers practical, process and outcome focused experiences that are both educational and enjoyable, giving participants the opportunity to express themselves and their environment though the arts.
"The PCPA photography workshop was great for my class to experience a realistic process, from ideas through to exhibition, with professional artists. As a teacher, it was insightful to participate in a project alongside my students and learn with them. I also gained a new appreciation for our town, as we really had a chance to explore the environment through a different lens (literally!)."
- Karina Talbott / Visual Arts Teacher, Babinda State School (October 2021)
"Thank you very much for the opportunity to learn more about photography & help me see a different perspective of Babinda."
- Enika | Student at Babinda State School
The Pacific Centre for Photographic Arts acknowledges and pays respects to the Yirrganydji people as the traditional and contemporary owners and custodians of the Cairns region, where we are located.
