Canberra, ACT (2015)

Body Language is a set of community portraits made at the Gorman House Markets in Canberra over a six-week period in 2015.

Engaging community participation and representation, this project invited people to pose in a professional studio environment that was set up every week for over a month in the heart of the farmers’ market at Gorman House. Market-goers posed in their regular Saturday clothes, the project’s aim was to capture to essence of people when they felt most comfortable and truly self-representative.

Each person received high-resolution digital images of their portraits, and a print-on-demand book of the series was published.
